Article Section is Live

Hey everybody,

If you've been on Freelance-Music.com lately you might have noticed an "articles" link at the top and bottom of the page. This is the new article section I've been putting together, and I will be adding many more articles as I find them (and as you submit them!) and if I deem them interesting or useful enough. Even if you do not have an article to submit but would simply like to see an article about something, please contact us and we will do our best to find (or write) an article about what you are looking for!

Soon I will also make the articles available to be e-mailed and printed easily (You don't want to waste $30 of ink printing graphics and page layouts do you?).

I hope you enjoy the new articles section! And I hope you will find the articles useful, or at least interesting to read.

Freelance-Music.com Article Section Coming Soon!

Hello,

I've been working away on an article section that I want to put up on Freelance-Music.com. I have got everything set up and ready to go live and you can check it out at http://www.freelance-music.com/articles.php

I will put a link up at the top navigation bar once I have at least one article in each section, but you can go there to see what's coming. I thought an articles section would be good to have so people have something to read right after they register, or while waiting for projects, or while waiting for someone to bid on their project.

If you think you have or know of an article that you think would be good, make sure to contact me through Freelance-Music.com (through our contact page).

I will post another blog as well as an RSS announcement once the article section is ready to be linked through the navigation bar.

Free RSS Reader from Freelance-Music.com

Hello,

In this blog I will spend some time telling you what RSS is and how you can take advantage of it.

To start off with, what does RSS mean? RSS stands for Real Simple Syndication and it is a format that is used by publishers to make their content available for you, the readers. E-mail Newsletters were the original syndication technique, but they lacked the organization, accessibility, and privacy of RSS.

With e-mail newsletters you had to give out your private e-mail address. You never knew who would end up getting it. Even if your address didn't fall into the hands of malicious spammers you still had to put up with disabling your spam filters and sorting through all of your e-mails in order to get to the newsletters.

This could become a huge problem when you are signed up to 10 different newsletters and each one is sending out 5 update e-mails a day. Soon your personal e-mail from friends and family is buried under heaps of updates and newsletters. This is most inconvenient.

Another thing to consider is that you will probably soon go blind from scrolling through all of your e-mails trying to figure out which message is from what website. They are all listed together in the order they arrived in your inbox. They lack organization.

RSS changed all that. Now you can have the privacy and peace of mind you deserve because to use RSS you never have to give out any personal information. It is all completely anonymous. You don't have to worry about spam because you only receive the RSS feeds you subscribe to. Imagine it like a television set; you choose what channels you want to watch.

And perhaps my most favorite thing about RSS is that all of your feeds are in one place, they are organized, and you can view them at your convenience, in the order you want. You can skip around, or you can go to all feeds about "Baseball" or "Computers" or "Music."

You are in control.

In fact, I believe so firmly that RSS is the greatest syndication tool so far that I put up a free RSS Reader on Freelance-Music.com so everyone can download it and have the power of RSS at their fingertips. This Free RSS Reader comes with the Freelance-Music News and Announcements Feeds already loaded on it. So all you have to do is install and you are ready to go! It also comes with its own help files so you can learn how to take advantage of all of the features available.

I hope you will take advantage of this great opportunity to try the easiest way to stay caught up with your favorite websites!

Best regards,

Freelance-Music News and Announcements RSS Feed URL

Hello,

I am currently working on an RSS feed section for Freelance-Music. There will be a webpage explaining the where, what, why, and how about RSS at Freelance-Music.com

I just wanted to post this Blog to let those who already know about RSS and can subscribe to RSS feeds find out the URL for the first RSS feed which will be available from Freelance-Music.com

This is the Freelance-Music News and Announcements feed and will be found at the URL:

http://www.freelance-music.com/RSS-a.xml (it is case sensitive)

So far all it has in it is an announcement about this being the official blog. In the future it will have information about important site updates, special features, and perhaps even new articles. I am not sure at this point if I will consider new articles becoming available on Freelance-Music.com as something to put into an announcements/news feed or if I will make a whole seperate feed for articles.

I guess once I start working on the articles section and know how often new articles will be posted and how many articles I will want to host I will make up my mind. For now new articles will be syndicated through this News and Announcements feed.

I hope you find this RSS feed convenient, and I will provide more information for those who aren't sure what I am talking about later on.
